SUNDAY SERVICES

At First Church the Rev. W. Allen Stevely will conduct services. In the morning his subject _ will bo ‘ln the Company of the Wiso Men,’ and in the evening ‘ Where To Go at. Christmas.’ At the evening ; service the choir, under Dr Galwaywill sing the following Christmas carols: —‘ Sleep, Holy Babe,’ ‘ When Christ Was Born,’ ‘The Manger Throne,’ ‘The First Nowell.’- ■ In Knox Church on Sunday the Rev. D. C. Herron will preach at bpth services. There will be special Christmas music.

Christmas services will be held in St. Stephen’s Church. ‘ The Government Upon His Shoulder ’ will be the subject in the morning, and ‘The First Christmas Sermon ’ will bo the subject in the evening. Christmas carols by the choir. ' The Rpv. George Miller will conduct services at North-east Valley Presbyterian Church. In the evening a large choir will render the sacred cantata, ‘ The Life Divine,’ by Joseph Elliott. Christmas services will bo held _in the South Dunedin Presbyterian Church. In the morning the Rev. A. C. Lawry will conduct the worship. In the evening the choir wii! render the Christmas cantata ‘Emmanuel.’ The morning service at Maori Hill Presbyterian Church will be conducted by Mr W. C. Comber. Tho Rev. A. O. W. Standage will preach in the evening. Subject: ‘ Christ’s Gift of Joy.’ The Rev. E. S. Tuckwell will conduct services at Hanover Street Baptist Church. The morning subject will be ‘ The Implications of the Incarnation,’ and the evening, ‘ Though He Was Rich, Yet for Our Sahes He Became poor.’ The choir, under Mr H. P. Desmoulins, will render Christmas carols.

Christmas services will h© held at the South Dunedin Baptist Church. Carol service by the choir (assisted by well-known singers) in the evening. The subject of a brief Christinas message will ho ‘ Looking for a King,’ Rev. Stanley Jenkin' being the preacher. Christmas services at Caversham Baptist Church will be conducted by Rev. H. E. Edridge. A communion service will follow the morning address. In the evening a large choir will render the cantata, ‘ The Nazarene.’ Christmas services will be conducted at Trinity Methodist Church, Stuart street, by the Rev. H. E._ Bellhousc, who will take as his morning subject ‘ The Wise Men and the Babe,’ and' in the evening ‘ Christmas and the Home.’ Special Christmas music will ho rendered at tho evening service, including the well-known carols ‘Good King Wenceslas,’ 4 Listen, Lordings,’ and ‘ The First Nowell.’ Mr J. D. M'Kechnie will sing the solo ‘ The Holy Child j’ and the choir will render ‘ The Hallejujah Chorus.’, Christmas services at the Central Mission will he conducted by the Rev. 6. B. Hinton. Special music will be rendered at the evening service, those assisting will bo Miss Agnes Guy, Mrs G. Scott, Mr B. James, and Mr W. M'Naught (vocalists), Mr J. B. M'Connell (elocutionist). The choir will render an anthem and two carols. Special Christmas _ music will be rendered at the Mornington Methodist Church in the morning and evening, selections from the sacred cantata, ‘ The Lion of Judah,’ being given by tho choir at night. Christmas services with hymns and music will be celebrated in Cargill Road Methodist Church. The Rev. A. R. _ Penn will conduct the morning service, and the carol ‘ Over the Fields of Bethlehem ’ will be rendered. The Rev. J. A. Lochore will conduct the evening service, which will be fully choral. Christmas services will bo celebrated in the St. Clair Methodist Church, Rev. J. A. Lochore in the morning, and Rev. A. R. Penn in the evening.

. St. Kilda Methodist Church services will be held by the Rev. D. Heggie in the morning and the Rev. A. C. Lawry in, the evening. The Rev, Albert Mead will conduct the services at the Congregational Church, Moray place. ‘ The Way of Love ’ will be the subject of his morning address, and in the evening he will speak on ‘The Grace of Kindness.? There will be Christmas hymns and carols by the choir. A choral service will be held at the United Congregational Church in the evening, when the Rev, James M. Smeeth’s subject will be 1 The Spirit of. Christmas.’ The full choir will render anthems and carols, and solos will bo sung. Mr Smooth's morning subjects will be ‘ The Christmas Stocking ’ and ‘ Once Upon a Time.’ ‘ The Significance of Christmas to a Spiritualist ’ is the subject of Mr A. W. Stables’s address at Spiritualist Church in the evening. Mr Brooks will' sneak at Higher Thought Centre in Harrop Street Hall at 8.15 p.m. Subject: ‘Peace on Earth, Goodwill Towards Men.’ Concentration to follow.
