DAILY BIBLE LESSONS
PORT CHALMERS SCHOOL The prize-giving ceremony in connection with the daily Bible lessons in the Port Chalmers Public School was held in the Congregational Church. There was a largo attendance of parents and children. The Rev. W. M. Grant presided. In his address he mentioned that the classes were begun by'the late Rev. Alexander Whyte twenty-one years ago, and that Port Chalmers was the only public school in New Zealand where Bible lessons were given daily by the ministers of the town. The head master, Mr D. Forsyth, was present and spoke of the remarkably good attendance of the children and of the regular and systematic work of the minister. He referred particularly to the long and outstanding ser vice rendered by Rev. W. M. Grant. Dr R. Edgar presented the prizes, commending the children and expressing appreciation of the work done in the school.

Standard ll.—Elsie Storm 1, Bessie Montgomery 2, Venus Gibbs 3. Attendance prizes; Margaret M'Lcod, Duncan Wilson. Standard lll.—Doris Jelly 1, Emily Gardiner 2, Margaret Grant 3. Attendance prizes: Malcolm M'Kenzie. Douglas Walker, George Wilson, Joyce Cashman. „ , Standard IV.—Molly Smith 1. Sadie Wellgreen 2, Mora Crawford 3. Attendance prize: Joyce Webster.
