The elder sou of the union was Mr Thomas Cheyne Farnie, who became first assistant at the Normal School, then studied for and entered tho legal profession, associated in partnership witli Mr Owen Hodge. Mr T. C. Farnie died at Geraldine in May of this year. His younger brother, Mr Ernest Farnie,’ is Commissioner of Crown Lands at Gisborne. Among those staying at the Excelsior Hotel are Mr G.
