FORBURY PARK CLUB
A meeting of the committee of tho Forbury Park Trotting Club was held last night, and was attended by Messrs B. S. Irwin (president, in tho chair), H. Arch bold, James Black, G. J. Barton. W. J. L. Goughian, James Mitchell, John Mitchell, J. Richardson, R. AI. Greenslade, and 11. Teller. Tho programme for tho summer meeting was considered, and it was decided to give £4,250 in stakes, which represents a decrease of £525 on the amount given for tho corresponding meeting last season. The Dunedin Cup will carry a stake of OOOsovs and a gold cup valued at SOsovs, while tho big race on tho second day, the Aletropolitan Handicap, will bo worth 500sovs. It was decided to delete the mile saddle races and substitute two-milo races with a 4.38 class. The King George and Royal Handicaps, which were previously raced over two miles," will be of a mile and a-quarter, with a 2.52 class. It was further decided to make the classes for tho Southland and Stewards’ Handicaps 3.39, instead of 3.37 i, .and to tighten the Metropolitan Handicap from 4.30 to 4.29 and the Flying Handicao from 2.48 to 2.47.
