SARCON WINS ALISON CUP PLATE TO VOLIMOND. The Takapuna Jockey Club’s Spring electing was opened on Saturday in fine weather. The course was in good order and the attendance was between 9,000 and 10.000, a record for the Spring Meeting. Great interest was taken in tho 5s totalisator innovation, these windows being heavily patronised and necessitating an increase in the number. Tho machine handled £36,516 los, compared with £42,500 on the first day of last year, a decrease of £5,983 ss. The result was considered very satisfactory.
