FREE KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION

Tho monthly meeting of the Dunedin Free Kindergarten Association was held on Thursday afternoon in First Church classroom. Tho president (Mrs Phillips) was in tho chair, and the following members wero present:—Lady Allen, Mesdames Batham, Bundle, Cameron, _ Callan, Sandford, Cox. Evans, Ewing, Gallaway, Hendersonj Halsted, Jenkins. ?lacLean, Mollison, E. J. Smith, Shand, and Waddell Smith. -Apologies wore received from Mesdames Brower, Glendining, Hanan, and Wright. Mrs Phillips, m a few well-chosen words, welcomed back to the council Mrs Gallaway, who Las been away on a holiday visit to Groat Britain.

Interesting reports were received from .the local committees. Hudson Kindergarten Mothers and Fathers’ Club had entertained tho parents of the other kindergartens to the number of 200 at a most successful social. North-east Valley Local Committee had held a garden party at Mrs Tannock’s residence in aid of tho local kindergarten, when a very satisfactory sum was raised. Those reports showed that all committees were working well and faithfully in tho interests of the kindergartens.

It was reported that arrangements were in hand for tho breaking-up ceremonies at_ the various kindergartens. The following dates were decided on:— Reynolds Kindergarten,' December IS ; North-east Valley, December 16; Kaikorai, December 16; St. Kilda, December 17; Hudson, December 17 ; KelsoyYaralla, December 18. Arrangements were also finalised for tho social evening, when tho diplomas will bo presented to the students completing their training this year. Subscriptions amounting to £2l 10s wore handed in, and accounts amounting to £144 17s wore passed for payment.
