TO-DAY’S TRAINING NOTES,

Tho weather was fine for training at Rlccartou,’ but there was not much excitement about the proceedings. On the course proper. Fair Weather led Jordan ovei half a mile in 49 l-ssec and Song Box beat Glenrowaniover half in 49 4-ssec.

Golden Wings and Esteem sprinted down, the straight. Lady Pam and Miss Ransom ran half a mile in 50sec. Black : Mint, went a mile in Imin 4G 4-ssec.

, La Poupee narrowly beat Chief Clerk and Chief Cook over half a mile in 50 l-ssec.

Arrow Lad did six furlongs in Imin 17 2-ssec. Earthquake beat Gold Pit and Lady Valkyrie over half in 52 3-ssec.

Merry Damca covered seven furlongs in. Imin 35 3-ssec,_ and Johneen and Cessation went six in Imin 17 l-ssec. Silver Coot and Pixie Gold went three furlongs up tho back in 36 IrSsec, and Imateagirl five in Imin !3sec. Silvermine beat Arikinui over half a mile in 49 l-ssec. Compensation and Make Up went five furlongs in Imin 2.4-ssec, and Grecian Prince thr;eo in 36 l-ssec, Royal Baby accompanying him over the first two in 24sec. Courtesy went six furlongs .in. Imin 17 3-usec on the plough. Courageous and Sho’tly beat Hynanna over a mile in Imin 45 4-ssec. AI Jolson and Dumblane covered six furlongs in Imin 18 3-ssec.. . Gustavo and Count Cavour did strong work. The former is quite sound again. Nightmarch and In tho Shade did a trotting exercise, both being very well. The other Cup candidates had strong Hrork on. the plough. Cimabuo is lame, and is an unlikely starter. , ..

The over-night were Glenrowan, Gay Fashion, Song Box, and Hunting Go, from the south. Havaspot has been scratched for the Spring Plate_ and Sargon for the Riccarton Handicap.
