“BLOWING OFF HOT AIR AT ST. KILDA.”
TO TUB EDITOR. Sir,—Under tho above heading the meeting of last Monday’s council was reported. In fclio heat of tho nioment a more important happening was overlooked—the application for a permit to erect additional stables at tho corner of Moreau and Jackson streets. This was evidently again hastily pushed through. Was this question decided in committee? If to, when and why? A petition protesting against granting a permit a few months ago, evidently has only stayed events. Why should this applicant bo granted a permit even although he does comply with health regulations? Who is going to kuep an eye on this section ? Mayor and councillors, use your so-called before-an-election policy—“‘Progress for St. Kilda,” and eliminate tho “hot air stunts.” —1 am, etc., Fresh Ain. November 7.
