TO-MORROW'S SPORT
After two postponements the Otaga Centre of the New, Zealand Amateur Athletic Association-is to the fore vvitu its first big afternoon track and field, meeting at the Caledonian _ Ground tomorrow afternoon, . and with the cooperation .of the Otago Mptor, Club a series of grass track motor' cycle races is also being held. Unusual interest is being taken , in these faces, and riders are coming to compete from as far south as Invercargill. The track should bo in good order after, the benefits or the drying wind to-day, and some Splendid racing is assured, as all the leading grass track motor cycle riders in Otago and Southland' will bo competing. The bends at this ground- are of a very tricky nature, and require considerable skill to negotiate, and as the straights are about 150yds king it should be possible to attain a big turn of speed. The running events ■ have drawn the usual good entries, and over the middle distances there is bound to be some particularly spirited racing. A walking event is included, and the ladies’ 100yds should also be well contested. The relay will be one of the most exciting events of the day, and in view of the splendid performance of R. G. Jolly at the Bovs’ High School sports great interest will attach to his appearance on the scratch mark in the long jump. J. C. Fogarty is .in great form among the cyclists at present, and is bound to give the opposition a strenuous time, file first race being timed to start at 2.15.
