GILLESPIE V. HECTOR LEGKIE It is so lung since a hosing contest, was staged in Dunedin that unusual interest is being taken in the meeting of Hector Reekie, light-weight champion of Now Zealand, and .Norman Gillespie, former, light-weight champion of Australia, at His Majesty’s Theatre on Monday night. Gillespie proved himself a great favourite when he last appeared hero, and ho is such a solid punchor that in the contests in which ho engages plenty of action is assured. He did not strike Ins best form against Johnny Lcckio or Tommy Donovan, but is confident lie will be more like himself when he faces Hector Leckie on Monday night. Hector Leckic is a much improved fighter, and as lightweight champion of the dominion ho is leaving nothing to chance in his preparation for his forthcoming contest. Archie Leckie. his trainer, has Hector in first-class shape for this bout, and it is interesting to recall that Hector recently beat Lon Bloom, who has a decision to his credit against .Norman Gillespie. Hector is a solid, short punchor. and can be depended on co keep Gillespie stepping lively all the wav. It should ho a fast and willing contest, and it will be preceded by the usual attractive preliminaries. The box plan facilities aro advertised in this issue.
