SUNDAY SERVICES

At First Church the Rev. W. Allen Stevely will conduct services. - In the morning his subject will be * And He Taught the People Out of the Ship.’* Dr C. Everard North, First Church’s own missionary, of Canton, will conduct the service in the evening. Dr Galway will preside at the organ. Rev. D. C. Herron, M. 0., M.A., will conduct both services in Knox Church to-morrow.

The services at-the North-east Valley Presbyterian Church will he conducted in the morning by the Rev. John Ings, a member of the Baptist conference, and in the evening by the Rev. George Miller, his subject being ‘ The Odour of the Ointment.’

In St. Stephen’s Church the Sunday, School anniversary service will he held in the morning, when there will ha special singing by _ the children. The evening service will he specially for, young men and women, and members of the Young Men’s Bible Class will assist.

At Maori Hill Presbyterian Church' the morning service will be conducted by the Rev. Professor S; F. Hunter,’ and the evening by the Rev. A. C. W. Standage. At the close of the evening service an organ recital will be giyeu by Mr E. Douglas Tayler, director of music , in schools.

Rev. H. E. , Bellhouso will conduct services at Trinity Methodist Church, Stuart street, preaching in the morning on ‘ The Bible Doctrine of Angels,’! and in the evening on ‘ Robert Raikes and His Challenge To-day.’’ At the evening service 'Sir George Crawford .will sing the solo ‘Be Thou Faithful Unto Death/ and the choir will render ‘ The Covenanters’ Hymn.’ The annual teachers’ dedication service- will take place at the close, followed by communion.

The Central Mission services will be conducted by the Rev. G. B. Hinton in the morning, and by the llev. J Carlyle, Baptist minister, of Invercargill, in the evening. Mrs G. Scott will sing the solo ‘ Consider and Hear Mo,*' and the choir will render the anthem ‘ Rend Your Hearts and Not Your Garments’ (Crackel). The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be, observed at the close of the evening service The Rev. W. H. Hocking will conduct the morning worship at .the Dandas Street Methodist Church. The sermon theme will be ‘The Glory of the Gross,' and communion will follow. The evening service will bo conducted by the Rev. E. N. Goring, of Wellington.' In the morning Rev. W. A. Sinclair,general secretary for foreign missions,will preach in St. Ivilda Methodist’ Church and in the evening the preacher will h-> Rev H.- Daniel The Rev. J A. Lochore will conduct services in the Cargill Road Methodist Church, preaching on ‘ The Optimism for the Age ’ in the morning,- and ‘ The Vendor of Divine Forgiveness ’in the evening. _ ■ At Hanover Street Baptist Churchthe morning service will be conducted byi the Rev. R. L. Fursdon. and the Rev. H Knowles Kempton will preadi the missionary service of the confer•> ence. In the evening the Rev. J. J. North, D-Ih, principal of the Baptist College; will be the preacher. His subject will be ‘.The Supreme Reason for Being Christian.’, There will bo a mixed quartette, and the largo choir, under Mr H. P, Desmoulins, will lead the singing. _ ... In continuation of the series of addresses on ‘ Parables of the Kingdom the Rev. Albert Mead will in the morning discourse on ‘ A Grain of Mustard Seed,’ at the Congregational Church, Moray place. The Rev. W. F. Rollings, of Wellington, will conduct the service in the evening. The choir will render, ‘ He Giveth His Beloved Sleep,’ from Challinons’s ‘ Bethany, 1 and Miss M.Green will sing ‘ The Virgin’s Cradle Song. The Rev. James M. Smeelh will preach at the United Congregational Church. Miss Mavis Johnston will sing a solo at the evening service. Services will be, conducted at tha Salvation Army Citadel, Dowling street.At 11 u.m. Captain Albert Chandler will conduct. a public worship- service. At 7 p.m. , the divisional commander (Major Bear) will conduct a special memorial service to the late Colonel David Gunn. The subject of the major’s address will bo ‘And There Will Be No More Sea. _ Tho_ Citadel Band and songsters will assist in both these services.

Mrs Brookes will speak at the Higher Thought Centre, liarrop ' street, on Sunday evening. . ; At the Spiritualist Church in the evening Mr A. W. Stables will speak oh ‘Hallucination and Obsession. 1 After the address Mr Burgess will givo clairvoyant descriptions and spiritual messages. ■
