“The fire’s dying out, the water is nice and hot; the windows and doors are bolted; the mousetraps are set, and there aro no mice; good-night, Sir John.” This, the nightly message, ot Dixon,-the chauffeur to Sir John Bickorstaffe, one of Blackpool’s leading citizens, was the inscription upon tho chauffeur’s wreath at the funeral of Sir John Bickerstaffe on August 8.
