ROLLER SKATING RECORDS.

TO THIS ITMTOI!. Sir,--dn reply to Mr L. Gribbon’s letter iu Saturday’s ‘ Slur,’ J. wisu to ))luco one ot two facts before the public. In endurance tests a competitor is allowed four minutes’ rest for massage, etc., after every twelve hours skated, and my record for endurance is fiftyeight hours, done in tho same building Mr Gribbou wrote of, and in a test in which ho was a competitor. L claim no world’s record for endurance, and my attempt in Dunedin recently was on the world’s non-stop record of twenty-four hours, hold b.v a Mr Osbaldson, of Forest Gato (England), i had clippings from both Dunedin papers to this effect, and 1 did twenty-five hours. Since then I have seen a report iu your paper that a Mr Koslci c* Scotland, has completed thirty-six hours’ continuous skating- thereto, o ho must hold the world’s record for non stop skating. It appears from Mr Gribbon’s letter that there is something akin to jealousy somewhere, and I am open to accept a challenge from him, or anybody else, for either endurance or non-stop. I intend, as soon as 1 an, financial enough, or can get tho necessary hacking, to attempt both the world’s records, though t understand the endurance record is claimed by an Australian, with seventysix hours. I wonder what American claims UOhr Minin. Since my performance in Dunedin 1 did over twenty-five hours' non-stop at Milton on Friday last, and that is not my limit.—l am, etc., Dor M'Kixxox, Australasian Champion Non-stop Roller Skater. Scptcinbe. 22

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I react with interest a letter from Mr Lon Grihbou refuting claims of Mr Roy M'Kinnon, of this city, and tiio announcement out of the Loudon ‘ Chronicle ’ where Mr Sam Rosier broke the world’s record for roller skating. Tho statement made by Mr Gribbon in to-night's ‘Star’ is quite correct as regards his having skated in a contest against myself in 1925 in this city, but the Australasian record which ho put up was sixty-three hours, not sixty-eight. The official time for the world’s record for skating is 961 i 14min, held by Mr Geo. Swale, an American. It has been stated in your columns that a Russian held tho record for endurance piano playing, tho time being given as seventy-six hours. _l, myself hold the record with 127 h domin. —1 am, etc., James Moxtecixo. September 20.
