IMPERIAL AIRWAYS
RESULT OF YEAR’S WORKING ENCOURAGING REPORT (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. HUG BY, September 17. (Received September 18, at 11 a.m.) A preliminary statement of tho results of the operations of Imperial Airways for the year ended March 31, shows that despite the world-wide trade depression, which is very liable to affect air transport, the profit before deducting charges for obsolescence, was over £145,000, compared with £115,000 last year With the rapid development and improvement in air designs, tho directors have set aside £85,000 for obsolescence as against £36,000. Last year was tho first of the England to India service, which proved very profitable. Less profit was made on the shorter services, owing to tho competition ot the heavily-subsidised Continental air lines.
