POLICE COURT
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12. (Before Mr 11. W. Bundle, S.M.)' LICE-INFESTED SHEEP. Charged with exposing licc-infestcJ sheep at Burnside, J. P. Gardiner was fined 10s and costa. SHOP-LIFTING \ CHARGE. Charged with the theft of a gramo-' phono record, valued at 2s, Hu by Joseph pleaded guilty, Chief-detective Cameron stating that the accused had visited M'Cracken and Wall’s . shop, after which a record was found to be missing. When the detectives accosted her on her way towards her home, the record was found in her possession, and she admitted stealing ft. This was an ordinary case of shop-lifting, accused being before the court before. Mr Simpson said the accused offered no excuse, but said that she had had an irresistible impulse to steal on this occasion. She had Six children. The accused was admitted to probation for two years, the magistrate admonishing her, and stating that if she did not comply strictly with the terms of her probation she would bo brought before the court and dealt with. TWO MEN FINED. Garnet James Ball and Ernest Hill Wore charged with casting offensive matter in Clark street. After Senior-sergeant Quartcrmain had outlined the case. Ball was fined 30s and costs, and Hill 10s and costs. UNLICENSED WIRELESS. Walter Graham Henderson, charged with possessing an unlicensed wireless set, was fined 10s and costs. . On a similar charge John Hanlon was fined 20s and costs. UNLAWFULLY ON PREMISES. William Lee faced three charges of being on licensed premises while prohibited. On the first two charges ho was convicted and discharged, and on the third charge he was fined 40s and costs. MOTORISTS CHARGED. Fines of 5s and costs were imposed on the following motorists, proceeded against for being In charge of unlighted motor cars at night:—Ashley William Cooper, Edith Annie Gursey, James Thomas Dunn. Robert Henry Rawlin,son, Wilford Seymour, and James Angus Todd. Charles Matthew Hewitt, charged with being in charge of an unlighted' 1 motor car at night and with being an unlicensed motor driver, was fined 5s and costs on the first charge and 10s and costs on the other, charge. John Gerard Kennedy, for turning a motor vehicle at other than an intersection, was fined 10s and costs. Andrew lan Douglas Ramsay pleaded guilty to being the unlicensed ,driver of a motor lorry and to using tho lorry without an assigned number plate. He was fined 10s and costs on the first charge and the amount of court costs (10s) ou the other. Melton Anderson, charged with causing a motor car obstruction in -Moray place, was fined 10s and costs, i Thomas Thompson was charged with being an unlicensed motor drivejj and also with having a motor cycle without the assigned number. 6u the first charge lie was fined 5s and costsand on the other he was convicted and discharged.
