YOUNG MEN IN TROUBLE ARTICLES TAKER FROM CAB “Tho trouble seems to bo that they have an old car and are really unable to afford it,” stated Chief-detective Cameron in tho Police Court this morning, when Andrew James Johnson MacInnes and Leslie John Roberts ap peared voluntarily in answer to a charge of stealing, at St. Leonards, on September 3, a rug, a battery, a grease gun, a foot pump, a pair of pliers, and two lamp bulbs (total vMue £11), the property of Harry Arthiu Reynolds Pryde. . The trouble seemed to be that they had an old car, and were really unable to afford it. They had appeared voluntarily, and were not bad young fellows. Mr Cameron suggested that, if His Worship considered it was a case for leniency, a condition should be that they were not to have a motor car or a motor cycle. „ „ _ , The Magistrate (Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) remanded the accused till Wednesday, pending a report from ohe probation officer. He stated that, as they had appeared voluntarily, they would bo released.
