(Received September 10, at 9.40 a.m.) Following fierce hand-to-hand fighting near the village of Kharlactu, on the North-West frontier, between the Indian militia and hostile border tribesmen, the latter, reinforced, raided the picket posts at night in force, but were driven off by bombs with heavy casualties.
