R.N.V.R. BALL
The divisional headquarters of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve presented au animated appearance on Saturday last, when, to the strains of music supplied by Pettit’s Dance Band, over fifty couples were entertained by the wardroom officers of the Otago Division. The interior decorating of the hall, the work of Mesdames K. S. Ramsay, A. B. Welch, and Miss Welch, was tastefully carried out, and gave a new atmosphere to the usual battleship grey walls and surroundings. The carrying out of naval routine by the striking of bells, etc., gave a decidedly nautical flavour to the evening. As the guests arrived they were welcomed by the host and hostess, Lieutenantcommander A. B. Welch, R.N.V.R., and Mrs Welch.
