GIRLS POSE AS PARENTS
HOAX ON A BEYS’ SCHOOL A remarkable hoax was recently perpetrated by two school girls at Newcastle, England. The girls are students at a wellknown secondary school, and. the hoax consisted of “ making Up ” beyond their age and posing as modern parents. In this guise they visited, a boys’ secondary school, ostensibly. for the purpose of “ placing their children.” They had an interview with an official, and discussed details for- half an hour. It was the “ parents’ ” hope, so it was stated, to be shown round tho school and to gaze on the sixth form boys with patronising air, but ill this respect they failed. - Otherwise they carried oft their plans success!':''ly. The names of the fictitious new students were duly entered and the “ parents ” were . courteously shown out. . '
Then came misfortune, for just outside the school the -two girls came face to face with their, own head mistress, who immediately penetrated their disguise and duly elicited the full story. Explanations followed, and fortunately for . the, girls the authorities concerned were willing to forgive the joke, but future escapades of similar character are not likely, to 'be so lightly regarded. - 7 : -
