SEIZURE CAUSES DROWNING. * ■ That the deceased met his death by drowning, through, falling into the Little Akatarawa River during an epileptic | seizure was the coroner’s finding at the 1 inquest oh Walter Blunden' Taylor, -3 aged twenty-one, who was found in 2ft t of water at Karapoti on Tuesday i night.—Wellington telegram. ~ INJURY TO EYE. Inquiries ■ made- this morning show that the condition of the hoy, Clifford Garland, who was admitted -to the hospital on Saturday- afternoon with a j Serious injury to the right, eye through j being struck by a bullet from a pea ; rifle, is still serious,- and an operation | yesterday failed to reveal the bullet. It is considered that it will not bo necessary to remove the eye. FELL FROM SWING. , Robert Holden, aged eleven, residing with his parents at 28 Melrose street, fell from a swing on Saturday afternoon, fracturing his right arm. He was removed to the hospital. CHILD BADLY BURNED. ; Gladys Ward, aged two and a-half years, was badly burned yesterday morning, when a paper she was playing with in front or the fire caught 1 alight. The child, who resides with her parents at 81 Roid road, was admitted to the hospital. ’ FATAL FALL FROM BRIDGE. A Tauniarunui Association message records that when Hugh _Reilly, a relief worker, - was- returning to camp from Ohara on Saturday he missed his step and fell from an bridge to the road helow, sustaining injuries from which he died half an hour later,A POSTMAN KILLED. Edwin Thomas Olds, aged 2S, married, a postman was run into by a motor car this morning and killed. He was a member of the North Otago Rugby Union Management Committee. —Oantaru 'Press Association telegram, SHOTGUN TRAGEDY. Frightfully injured about the head and face George Morecraffc, aged 80, was found lying near the milking shod on his son’s farm at Manaia (Hawera) yesterday morning with a shot gun between his legs. ; Ho was admitted to hospital, but succumbed shortly afterwards.—Press Association. GORED BY VICIOUS BULL. Attacked by a vicious Jersey bull yesterday on his farm at Hawera, Evan Evans was severly gored about the thigh, besides suffering severe chest bruises* and, but for the timely inter- , vention of his son, who drove the animal off with a pitchfork, would probably have been fatally injured. He was removed to the Hawera Hospital and operated upon. He is progressing satisfactorily.; . . "
