AN ISLAND INCIDENT
CUTTER'S DRIFT Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. SUVA, August 22. The Tongan cutter Fugagiamata, of 20 tons, laden with copra, left Nuiafoou for Yavau twelve days ago. For eight days, during a calm, tho vessel drifted to tho island of Matuku, in the Fiji group. Nine men on board who were without food and water for three days are in an exhausted condition. Wth tho aid of a Matuku pilot' they reached Suva last night. Tho crew are still suffering from the effects of tho hardships.
