(Received August 22, at 7 p.m.) The Now Zealand crew won the Empire Fours (without coxswain), M‘Gill University (Canada) being second, and British Guiana third. Now Zealand took the lead from M‘Gill University and British Guiana, Time Smin 2sec.

Pearce, Australia’s wonder sculler, took the lead in tho Sculls at tho halfmile mark and, nearing the finishing line, was rowing easily and smoothly three lengths ahead of Bcresford, with Bradley two lengths in tho rear of Berosford,, and Wright completely outrowed. Pearce rowed up and down the course after the race, when his comment was; “ I am very pleased to have won. It was a victory worth the long journey.” , BOXING AND WRESTLING. HAMILTON, August 21. (Received August'22, at 8 p.m.) Further results in the wrestling finals were;— Welter-weight; Priestly (Canada) defeated _ Johnson (England). Light heavy-weight; M'lutyre (Canada) defeated, Bacon (England). _ The results of the boxing finals were as follows: Fly-weight; Smith (South Africa) defeated Pardee (England). Bantamweight: ' Nizzler (England) defeated Kollar • (Canada). Light-weight: Holland (Scotland) defeated Canzau (Canada), Heavy-weight: Stuart (England) defeated Skimming (Canada) on a technical knock-out. SERIOUS DISPUTES ARISE. Serious disputes threatened to disrupt the games to-day. With the scullers’ nerves badly on edge , owing to the postponement, of the' faces in consequence of bad weather, attempts officially to switch the courses did not meet with general satisfaction. It was rumoured that some of the contestants, possibly England and various Canadian entrants, would withdraw. -To-nignt another dispute arose in the Dash Handicap, which Williams won. The starter (Mr E. J Holt, of England) ordered Elliott (New Zealand) out of the. race op his second false break. The crowd jeered and the heat was delayed for five minutes,, Elliott finally being restored to,his mark.

It was the third straight victory _ for the Englishman, and the third title for Britain. ■ The singles match to-day was productive of the best. bowling of the week. .Colquhoun met his strongest foe in. Fielding. Duringthe. game ,the score was tied, and the New Zealander scored two on the twentieth head to go one up. Colquhoun laid the first two howls against kitty, and the third only inches away. Fielding was short with the first three howls, and his final was -well laid but just behind Colquhouu’s third bowl. Mrs Ruth Co'rsan, Torontowas second, 170yds behind. Thirtytwo started. The first prize is 5,000 dollars. EMPIRE SPORTS FEDERATION SOUTH AFRICA ALLOTTED NEXT GAMES MONTREAL, August 22. (Received August 23, at 11 a.m.) At a meeting of officials of the games in progress it was decided to form a British Empire Sports Federation, to consist of three representatives from each country in the Commonwealth., with Mr J. F. Wadmore (manager of tho English team) as secretary-trea-surer, and with headquarters in London. Tho other officials will be named when the committee is formed. The new organisation will foster Little Olympics each four years, # Competitors to be confined to the Empire. All expressed tho opinion that the Games should be continued and that the new organisation could do much to foster athletics. - ,

Tho next meeting will be in_ South Africa, and New Zealand applied for the 1938 meeting, but a decision has not yet been made. The federation will apply to the various Governments and appeal’ for financial and moral' support to be given. The matter is expected to' be discussed at the Imperial Conference in London next month:
