DOWN PIT IN A TUB. Sir Hugh Bell and Sir Arthur Dorman, who aro 86 and 81 respectively and are directors of the Horden Collieries, astounded the officials-at Castle Eden Colliery (Durham) by ordering, workmen to lower them in an iron tub to the bottom of the pit. The colliery is 900 ft deep.
