RADIO BROADCASTING

lnr ” TO-HIGHT’S NEW ZEALAND PROPBAMHES IYA will broadcast the concert to be given in the Town Hail by the Municipal Band, under the direction of Mr C. Smith. A W.E A, discussion, ‘ The Drama v. the Talkies,’ the speakers being Mrs M. L. Hannah and Mr 0. N. Gillespie respectively, will bo broadcast from 2YA at 7.40. The concert session from 2YA will be devoted to a, relay of the “ Grand Finale of Music Week,” which is being held in the Town Hall. The programme will include items by loading artists, the Festival Choir, and instrumental and orchestral items. The official opening of the Christchurch Winter Show will be broadcast by 3YA. A vaudeville and dance programme will follow. Miss L. Black (mezzo-soprano) will be singing. Recitations and a musical monologue will be given by Miss Lily _ Kinsella. Humour in song and story will be contributed by Mr Jock Lockhart. Items will be provided by Miss Dorothy Davis (pianist), Miss Irene Morris (violinist), and the Broadcasting Trio. Except during the broadcast from the Winter Show, when 4YA will be presenting a studio programme, the Dunedin station will be relaying from 3YA. TO-MORROW’S CHURCH SERVICES. The church services to be broadcast to-morrow evening will be as follow: IYA.—St. David’s Presbyterian Churfth. 2YA.—Trinity Methodist Church; preacher, Rev. T. W. Vcalio. 3YA. —Church of Christ, Moorhouse avenue; preacher. Pastor J. Crawford. 4YA. —• St. Paul’s Cathedral; preacher, Canon Neville.
