BRITISH AIRSHIPS
PROPOSED AUSTRALIAN SERVICE LONDON, July 10. An Australian party inspected the airships RIOO and RlOl at Cardington. No date has been suggested for the RlOl’s flight to Australia, and it will take some time after her flight to India in the autumn to compile data on which to undertake the Australian flight, though it is admitted that once the airship has flown to India the flight to Australia is as good as done. Experts remark that Australia is likely to he the last dominion to erect a mooring mast. Canada and South Africa are already moving in that direction A hint has been dropped that when Empire services are inaugurated it may be more expedient to combine Africa and Australia in the same service, instead of travelling via India. In any case, officials are sanguine that first a ten-day and later an eight-day to Australia will be practicable.
