MECCA OIL CASE
A SWINDLE ALLEGED IPzr United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, July 17. The caso against M. P. Pimentel, ol the Mecca Oil Company, a civil action alleging oil swindling and claiming refunds, was continued to-day. Evidence was given by Arthur _ Bywaters, storeman tor Adams and ILyth, who said his firm used to store oil for tho Mecca Oil Company, the oil generally coining in one day and going out the next. A message boy employed by Eimentel gave evidence of having been instructed to mix oils of different grades, remove the marks from the drums, and label the drums Mecca. He said the oil from the Texaco Company was already marked Mecca on arrival, the original marks being scraped off. tn regard to fifteen drums of Standard oil which came direct from the ship, ho painted all the Standard marks off and stencilled Mecca on, with tho number of the oil.
