(Received July 16, at 11.40 a.m.) Tho serious disturbances in Kishorcganj, a sub-district of Mymensingh. broadly speaking, are a form of attack by Moslem villagers on rich Hindu money lenders, and are tho effects of tho civil disobedience boycott. Tho trade collapse is now beginning to affect the villagers, who, in this case, took vengeance on tho nearest and handiest victims.

Tho rioters, operating over an area of 150 square miles for several days past, have .carried on a campaign of lawlessness, looting, and murder. In eight villages infuriated crowds vented their fury on money lenders, whoso houses wore sacked find looted.

At Jangalia a mob of several tjiousa. 1 savagely attacked a Hindu money lender named Krishna Chandra, killing tho whole family of nine with axes, setting fire to the house, and flinging tho bodies into tho flames. Krishna stoutly defended his family with a gun until his ammunition gave out. A small body of police firod on the mob, but wore forced to retreat.

In other villages three people were killed. The arrests totalled nearly 100.
