ROBBERY IN ADELAIDE BANK STRONGROOM BLOWN UP, P cat Association—By Telegraph—Copyright ADELAIDE, Juno 15, Thieves blew open the strongroom in the E.S. and A. Bank and secured £BOO. OTHER PREMISES ENTERED. ADELAIDE, Juno 16. (Received June 16, at 9.5 a.m.) The safe blowers entered the bank, a furniture shop, and a shipping office in the city, the hauls totalling £BIO. The bank strong room and safe were blown open, and to great was the force of rno explosion that pieces or the safe door were found embedded in tho counter 12ft away. MURDER IN FITZROY. A SUSPECT ARRESTED. MELBOURNE, June 15. A week ago John Taylor, aged sixtyfive, was murdered inside his small grocery shop in Karr street, Fitzroy. Robbery is believed to have been the motive, as it_ is understood that he possessed considerable wealth. The police have now arrested Arthur Skerrett, aged forty-eight, who has been remanded fln a charge of murder.
