SUNDAY SERVICES

At First Church tho services will he conducted by the Rev. Lawrence A. North. In tho morning his subject will ho ‘ The Grace of tho Lord Jesus Christ,’ and in tho evening ‘The Test of True Sincerity.’ Dr Y. E. Galway will preside at the organ. Rev. D. C. Herron, M.C., M.A., will conduct both services in Knox Church. A welcome social to Rev. and Mrs Herron will be held in tho Early Settlers’ Hall on Thursday, June 19, at 7.110. Anniversary services will be conducted at the North-east Valley Presbytoria i Church by the Rev. J. D. Smith, of Kaikorai. His subject for the morning service will bo ‘ God Did All This With Us,’ aud for tho evening, ‘ What Price a LifcP’

At the Maori Hill Presbyterian Church tho communion service _ will be held in the morning. The evening subject is ‘ Religion and Business.’ Mr Chas. A. Martin will play the voluntaries, * Prelude Pastorale,’ ‘ Andante Religiose,’ and ‘Communion in FA Mr H. Harvey will sing ‘ I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say.’ An evangelistic service conducted by the minister (Rev. Thomas Miller) will be held in St. Stephen’s Church in the evening The Rev. G. Clement will conduct tho morning service at Trinity Methodist Church, Stuart street, and ip the evening the Rev. H. E. Bellhonse will conduct a special service for young men and women, preaching on tho subject, ‘ The Conquest of Temptation.’ _ The solo, * Whatever is is_ Best,’ will be rendered, and the choir will sing the anthem ‘ Comes at Times of Stillness.’ Retiring collections will bo taken for the conferences Y.P. department. .. A young people’s service-will be‘ conducted at the Dundas Street Methodist Church in the evening, when the Rev. W. H. Hocking will preach. Mr E. Bush will occupy the pulpit in the morning. Tho Rev. A. R. Penn will conduct the morning service in the Cargill Road Methodist Church, and tho Rev. J. A. Lochore in the evening. He will preach more especially to young men and women on ‘ Realities in the World Wo Live in.’

A young people’s rally will be held at tho Mornington Methodist Church in the evening, when tho B.C. leaders will be associated with the Rev. Janies Richards in the conduct of the worship. At St. Hilda Methodist Church the evening soloist will bo Mr A. Butterfield. The men’s choir will render sacred choruses and lead the singing of favourite hymns. Mr G. Moffat will play the cornet solo, ‘ Sweet Spirit Hear my Prayer.’ Preacher, Rev. A. C. La wry.The Rev. E. S. Tuckwell will conduct services at the Hanover Street Baptist Church, preaching in the morning from the text 4 Greater works than these shall Ho do, because I go unto my Father.’ The subject in tho evening will he * Types of Would-be Disciples.’ The* choir will sing the anthem ‘ Incline Thine Ear,’ and Mr Eric Brown will bo tho soloist. At the South Dunedin Baptist Church the subjects are ‘ Christian Profress ’ (morning), and ‘Tho Glad lan ’ (evening). The thirty-third anniversary services of the Roslyn Baptist Church will bo held, tho preachers being the Rev. H. Ry:-,u and Rev. P. L. A. Crampton, B.A.

Mr John Clark will sing Carey’s 4 Nearer My God To Thee,’ Miss Ahco Campbell will give a recital entitled 4 If,’ and tho choir will render 4 By Babylon’s Wave.’ The whole service will* bo broadcast from 4YA.

At Xork. Place Hall the morning season of worship and fellowship at the Lord’s table is open to all Christians. At the evening service, Mr Frank Varley will preach on the second advent ot Christ—‘ Tho Hope for the Church and the World.’ Special services to commemorate the jubilee of the opening of the present church building for worship will bo held at the United Congregational Church.
