GETS SIX MONTHS’ GAOL [Pita United Pam Assocutxok.J AUCKLAND, June 13. “ Apparently this man is a professional love maker,” said the chief detective when Cecil Granville, aged forty-one, pleaded guilty to obtaining money by false pretences at Waikino. At Wellington, in 1927, the chief detective said that the accused got into touch with a lady in a beauty contest.He obtained an engagement ring front her, and borrowed £25 from her Father* Then, knowing that the police were after him, he went to Sydney, where, according tc s letter the police, had received, he had been 'at the same game. He was a married man with three children. The accused was sentenced to sis months’ imprisonment.
