LONDON’S DEARER WATER. London’s water is costing more. Recently the Metropolitan Water Board at a meeting agreed to a recommendation that there should be an increase in the water charges. T' is increase will amount to. g per cent, per annum of the net annual value of tne building to which the water is supplied, and Jd per 1,000 gallons at each point of the scale when water is supplied by meter. America’s so-called lawlessness may bn blamed on everything except a scarcity laws.
