FRUIT AND PRODUCE Bray Bros., Ltd., Dunedin, report as follows for week ended to-day:— Tho chaff market is steady. Supplies are sufficient for the demand. Prices at present are a little high to do business with the North Island. Good chaff; is worth up to LG per ton (sacks extra). Fair quantities of oats are offering from farmers, but there is very little life in tho shipping business and present deliveries arc all going into forward sales, most of which were made some time ago. Prices are ruling round about 3s Ikl per bushel for A’s and 3s for B’s, at country sidings. Tho wheat market is steady. Millers have been operating, and there is no alteration in prices. Millers prices are as follows : Flour.—2oo’s, £JG 10s; 100’s, £l7 15s; 50’s, £18; 25’s, £lB 10s. Bran, £S per ton. Pollard, £8 per ton. Oatmeal. —200‘s, £24 10s; 25’s, £25 10s. The potato market is easy. Very little shipping business is passing, and consignments to tlio North island are smaller than usual. Best quality potatoes are worth up to £6 per ton. Inferior lines are slow of sale. The onion market is easy. Fair quantities have come forward from Canterbury, and best lines arc selling up to (is per cwt. Business in tho fruit marts has been steady during the week. Choice dessert apples have been in demand. A largo quantity of inferior quality is offering, and these are difficult to place. A shipment of Samoan bananas arrived during the week, and realised high prices. The condition of the fruit was first class, and it came to a bare market. This market can take largo quantities if the fruit can ho landed in tho condition that this last shipment was in. Tho keeping quality of many of the lines is not good. Lemons are in good supply, and prices reasonable. Hothouse grapes are coming forward freely, and prices have been moderate. Pears and quinces are offering. Tho tomato market is firm. Supplies have fallen away. Passion fruit is now offer ing. Vegetables are in fair supply, and prices moderate. The egg market is steady. All lines coming forward are readily placed. Honey is meeting with a fair demand. Hams and bacon are in good supply. Tho cheese market is steady. Tho following prices were realised during the week: — Honey, 5d lb; 101 b tins, os Gd to 6s; 51b tins, 3s Cd; sections, choice 12s, first grade 9s Gd to 10s Gd dozen; pottles Is Gd to 13s. Mushrooms. —Choice, Is Gd lb. Swedes, to 4s cwt. Cabbage, 3s to 4s sack. Cauliflowers, 5s Cd to 7s Gd. Pumpkins, 8s to 9s bag. Lettuce, 2s to 3s dozen; small, Sd to Is Gd dozen. Marrows, 9s to 10s bag. Radish, Is dozen. Celery, Cd to 9d hunch. Cucumbers, 7s to 9s. North Island cucumbers, 5s to 10s case. Broad beaus, lid to 2jd lb. French beans, 3id to 4-|d lb.
