DRUIDISM

The mooting of the Lodge Olago was well attended. V..\. Bro. Tasker occupied the chair in tho absence of tho A.I). Several visitors were present, including tho D.R. No. J District and tho members of the Juvenile Council. An invitation was accepted to attend tho chapter meeting on April L’G. A handsome donation was made toward tho fund for the establishment of a chair of obstetrics. Several matters were discuasd in connection with tho forthcoming jubilee of the lodge, and indications pointed to the whole of the functions being eminently successful. It was resolved to issue a challenge to Ivauhoe to play for the euchre shield at present held by that lodge. One candidate was initiated in a very impressive manner, and one new member was proposed. The lodge then adjourned for the purpose of entertaining a large contingent from the juvenile lodges. Games and competitions were indulged in under the able supervision of Bros. Kilgour and M'Crono, and refreshments were handed round by the stewards. A good attendance of members greeted A.D. Bro. J, C. Logic when he opened the fortnightly meeting of Mistletoe Lodge on Tuesday last. An invitation . from Good Intent Lodge (Mosgiel).to attend its next meeting and Work Lodge was also accepted. Bros. Dumblc and Mildcnhali reported on behalf of tho Euchre Committee, and A.I). Bro. Logie reported attendance at a function held by Court Pride of Green island. M.C. Bro. Johns also gave a report on his attendance at the All Nations and West Harbour Lodges. The usual toasts were then honoured, and the arch druid adjourned the meeting for the purpose of carrying out the items on the syllabus. This took the form of ten minutes in the A.D.'s chair for junior members. The brothers responded enthusiastically, and a very successful and instructive evening was finally brought to a close. V.A. Bro. M'Elwee presided at tho opening of All Nations Lodge. A considerable amount of routine business was' transacted. Day and to place a wreath _on the Cenotaph. Bro. .M'Callum, of Enterprise Lodge, was present, and spoke at length oil the juvenile movement, stressing the necessity of everv member taking an active part in a forward move. Ho replied to the second toast. A.D. Bro. W. G. Lenthley presided over the meeting of Enterprise Lodge, which was held last Wednesday, n large number of members greeting the arch druid. A challenge was receiver from Roval Oak Lodge to play for tie j euchre shield and accented, 'next lode ' night being fixed for the match. Dm ing the evening the t"nm for the Ro Stewart shield had the plcnsm-e > initiating a candidate as a full benef: ; member, and another proposition wa handed in. The business of the. evening was quickly disposed of, ns the members of Good Intent Lodge were in at tendance for the purpose of a friendly game of cards.
