OCTAGON’S NEXT CHANGE
ANOTHER DOUBLE TALKIE BILL Lenore Ulric, talented Broadway •tar, will appear at the Octagon Theatre on Friday in ‘South Sea Rose,’ her ■econd Fox Movietone all-talking picture. As the exotic and voluptuous maid of a tropical island Miss Ulrrc’s role is similar to the memorable characterisations she created in her two most famous stage hits, ‘ Lulu Belle ’ and ‘Kiki.’ / South Sea Rose ’ is an adroitly-con-trived comedy drama with the bulk of its stormy action laid in a remote tropical island and aboard a trading vessel on’ tho high seas. It is full of bizarre adventure and ruthless events stirred by the tempestuous lass who is restored to civilisation by a rough crew of wayfarers. Charles Bickford, who won considerable fame by his performance in ‘ Dynamite, ’ portrays a hardened sea captain. The remainder of the supporting cast includes many well-known stars. Glenn Tyron antics his way through more than the usual amount of amusing complications in ‘ Barnum Was Right,’ Universal dialogue farce-comedy, which will be the supporting attraction. Tryon plays the role of the young proprietor of a summer hotel harbouring traditions of private treasure. Merna Kennedy is his charming co-star in the picture.
