NEW STRING ORCHESTRA

The recital of chamber music and piano concertos to be given in tils'Concert Chamber of the new Town Hall oa Monday, March 31, is one w ell worthy of the support of all who are, seriously interested in the cause of good music. At a time such as the present, when the public has little opportunity to hear, and appreciate the beauty of the work*, of old masters and modern composers, it is gratifying to know that something clifinite is being done along the lines of musical education,.and Messrs Charles Begg and Co;, Ltd., are to bo-com-mended for undertaking this neoesfeary work. The recital will comprise many of the best compositions, lor ..strings and piano. A very attractive item wxU be ‘Meditation ’ from ‘Thais’■ (Masse, well). This will be rendered on the violin by Mr J. H. Wallace and'accompanied by the orchestra. Vocal solos will be rendered by Mr; Ernest Drake. ’ ■ , ; . I
