COSTLY TALKIE FOR REGEHT The Regent Theatre will present a picture on Friday nest which should appeal greatly to its patrons. This is the all-talking film * Tjie Hollywood Revue.’ Sis hundred costumes were designed and produced by the wardrobe department of the Metro-Golwyn-Mayer studios-in less than a mouth for ‘The Hollywood Revue ’ by a force of 150 seamstresses. The task of outfitting the principals and chorus of this musical and talking production was assigned to the wardrobe department following the success of ‘The Broadway Melody,’another Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer success. The revue, incidentally, is claimed to have the largest cast of stars ever assembled for a motion picture, and a larger ensemble thau a Ziegfeld ‘ Follies-’ “Every costume for the revue was manufactured on our own lot within thirty days,” said Joseph Rapf, head of the wardrobe department.' “ All the material was purchased here with the exception of a special,', transparent rubberised- 'material ’Tvlilclr* eouid not be found on the coast. “We made tests of all materials under ordinary camera conditions before they were ordered, the predominating colours, of course, being black and white. The all-musical, talking extravaganza brings together the largest cast of - stars ever assembled for a motion picture, including Marion Davies. John Gilbert, Norma Shearer, Conrad Nagel, Bessie Love, Anita Page, Joan Crawford, William Haines, Gwen Lee. Karl Dane, George K. Arthur, Buster Keaton, Polly Moran, Jack Bennv, Marie Dressier, Charles King, “ Ukeleia Ike ” fCliff Edwards), Stan Laurel, and Oliver Hardy, the Brox Sisters, Gas Edwards, Natacha Nattcva, tua Albertina Rasche ballet, the Rounders, and many others.
