TO-NIGHT'S NEW ZEALAND PROGRAMMES The IYA Orchestral Octet will provide the instrumental portion of the programme from the Auckland station. Also included in the :ession are Miss Kitty Williamson (soprano) and Mr George Barnes (tenor). Ingall’s Hawaiians yill play popular numbers, and the humourist will be Mr Allan M‘El- - There will be the usual dance session until 11 a.m.
As to-day is St David’s Day, arrangements have been made by 2YA for a proper observance of this great W’elsh anniversary. The whole of the proceedings of the Wellington Welsh Society’s St. David’s Day celebrations will be relayed at the concert commencing at 8 and concluding shortly after 10. There will be a brief period of studio items, and these will be of national character. The programme will consist of part songs, solos, and instrumental items, all as much as possible of a Welsh nature.
The programme for 3YA and 4YA will be typical of a Saturaay night entertainment. A number of Welsh items will be introduced in honour of St, David’s Day. Included among these will be two harp solos by Mr Harry Glaysher. Mr Frank Moran, a humorous song and patter artist, will appear for tho first time. He was a particularly popular member of Pat Hanna’s “ Diggers,” and has been a regular contributor to 2YA programmes. TOMORROW’S CHURCH SERVICES. Church services to be broadcast tomorrow are as follows: —IYA, St. Matthew’s Church; preacher, Canon Grant Cowan. 2YA, St. Gerard’s . Redemptorist Church; preacher, Father J. P. Duggan. 3YA, St. Mary’s Church of England, Merivale; preacher, Ven. Archdeacon P. B. Ilaggitt. 4YA, Knox Church.
