There has been for some time a controversy existing over the control of leer in New Zealand. Yesterday the linistei of InWna) Affairs (Mr do la errelle) stated that he had gone very irefully into the whole question, and had been decided to hold a confornco of those interested in Christchurch a May 7. It is'understood that the iroposed conference will bo fully representative of all parties concerned. “It s,” remarked Mr de la Perrellc, “ my desire to see soim equitable arrangement made for the control of deer, and I think when tho personnel of the conference is announced it will have tho confidence of all interested in this vexed question.”
