What is human beauty? A poet will write pages in trying to define it, but the term “ beauty ’’ remains vague, we are told. The reasqji is that everyone’s idea of beauty is ‘ different. The idea of beauty varies with the environment and is always something which pleases the mind and excites the admiration. The environments are not the same for each individual, therefore everyone imagines " beauty ” in a different light. The snub nose and thick hanging lips of a negress is considered " beauty " among her kin people, whereas among us it is tho reverse. Individual tastes and instincts differ, hence the differences of opinion with regard to 11 beauty.” Wc may look upon beauty -s of two kinds—natural and acquired. The former is a gift of nature which consists of proportionate and healthy development of our body and limbs together with perfect harmony of expression and pleasing features; the latter is the triumph of tho intelligent brain over human imperfections.
