Sir John Ferguson, whoso victory at Twickenham by-election as an Empire crusader was acclaimed as a crusade triumph, has now resigned from the United Empire Party, and is accused of wobbling by Lord Rothermere, who challenged him to resign and contest the seat against an Empire Party candidate Sir John Ferguson has replied, stating that he does not see the necessity for resigning, as the position in the constituency has not changed since the election THE ‘SATURDAY REVIEW.’ WHOLE STAFF RESIGNS. LONDON, February 27. Mr Gerald Barry, editor of the ‘ Saturday Review,’ and the whole editorial staff and contributors, resigned following the directors’ decision to support the United Empire Party. The first intimation Mr Barry received was through the headlines in the Beaverbrook newspapers. Last week’s issue of the ‘ Saturday Review ’ strongly criticised Lord, Beaverbcook’s policy.
