‘MARRIED IN HOLLYWOOD'
LAVISH MUSICAL PRODUCTION Nonna Terris, beautiful and talented stage star, who is co-featured with J. Harold Murray in ‘ Married in Hollywood,’ the Oscar Straus Operetta which comes to the Empire Theatre screen next Wednesday via Fox Movietone, as the first production of this character for the singing and talking screen, is noted for her imitations and impersonations. Miss Terris imitates many famous stage and screen stars. This lovely singing star reached the high spot of her career when she played the leading role in ‘ Show Moat ’ for two years in New York before going to Hollywood to make all-talking and singing pictures for Fox Movietone.
Equally prominent was Murray, who had the leading role in 1 Rio Rita ’ for two and a-half years on Broadway. A distinguished cast supports them, prominent in which is Waiter Catlett leading comedian of a score of muscial comedies; Tom Patricola, famed as an eccentric dancer; Irene Palasty, star of ‘ No, No, Nanette ’ for three years in London; Leila Karnelly, who has been compared favourably with Pavlova ; and others. 4 Married in Hollywood ’ boasts of a chorus of ICO voices and sixty trained dancers, in addition to the principals. The story, dialogue, and lyrics are by Harlan Thompson, who was also in charge of stage direction. Additional music is by Dave Stamper, and the dancing was staged by Edward Royce. Ma reel _ Silver directed , the production, which is repbrted to he even a greater hit than his 4 Fox Movietone Follies of 1929.’
