PROBLEM OF SAFETY MEASURES [Pjsk United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 28. tn reply to a question as to what the Alpine Club is doing in reference to taking the necessary slept* to pro toct tourists in the alpine regions, Mr Harper (president of the club) said that a scheme based on the Swiss practice had boon put forward officially, but the Government authorities had done nothing. The club felt it was such an urgent matter that it was again pressing for reform, and the Minister in charge now had proposals under definite consideration. The question would bo pressed by the club vigorously, as at present the want of system was neither fair to the guides nor safe for tourists.
