AUCKLAND VETERAN’S DEATH SERVED WITH GARIBALDI [Per United Pres* Association.] AUCKLAND, February 15. Mr George Hill, better known as Trooper Rowley Hill, - Auckland’s oldest veteran, died at Takapuna this morning, aged 93. Ho fought with Garibaldi, was at Sevastopol,, also with Peel’s Brigade in the Indian Mutiny at the relief of Lucknow, and was a member of Von Tempsky’s Forest Rangers in the Maori War.
