Sir.—Dr Fisher’s views on the movement of population from country to town, it seems'-'to me, might apply very well to a country which had I'uliilled tho Biblical injunction of owing no man anything. Would Dr Fisher treat the subject of the number of people who ought to be engaged in agricultural pursuits from the point of view of a country like New Zealand, which owes a huge external debt and has little other means of meeting the debt than' by the export of its pro-duce?—-I am. etc., J.M.
