(Received December 31, at 10.5 a.m.) The New Zealand publicity branch reports unprecedented interest in New Zealand affairs, scenery, industries, and products throughout Europe, particu farly in Germany, Holland, and Bel gium, whence there are many inquiries from newspapers for photographs. A German periodical published a page ot scenery and Maoris, in which tney are specially interested. They are also greatly interested in flax. The department has over 500 photographs circulating on the Continent, in addition to supplying Belgian, German, and Dutch syndicates with educational films and lantern slides, resulting in a rapid increase in the demand for New Zealand honey and apples. The department is not troubled in placing films in England, although they are silent. Mr Drew (publicity officer» stated that the films were showing on an average in fifteen theatres daily throughout the year, mostly in the provinces, despite that they were neither talkies nor sound, films. Many managers said that the public prefer silent pictures.
