AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS The following results were reached yesterday in the Auckland provincial championships:— In the final of the men’s singles Bartlect beat Morrison, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5, 10-3. In tiro semi-final of the ladies’ singles Miss Knight created _ a sensjition by defeating Miss Marjorie Macfariane, the Auckland and New Zealand champion, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. In the final Mrs Melody beat Bliss Knight, 6-2, 4-6, 10-8. In the final of the ladies’ doubles Blisses Knight and Whitelaw beat Mesdames Blelody and Arneil, 6-4, 6-2. SOUTHLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS The Southland Association’s Christmas tournament was concluded yesten. day. The following are championship winners Blen’s Singles.—-H. K. Sumpter. Blon’s Doubles.—H. K. Sumpter and G. Sumpter. Ladies’ Singles.—Mrs W. A. Scott (Timaru). Girls (junior).—Miss J. Harvey. Boys (junior).—W. Strang.
