“AIR YACHT”
MILLIONAIRE’S ORDER Wo have already got as far as the “ air yacht.” This vessel has been ordered from the Cornier works by Mr Garfield Wood, the American millionaire and m"t ir boat racer, whose Miss America met with a serious mishap at Venice. The air yacht will in the main bo built on tho lines of the now familiar German aeroplane DO-X, but will embody German fresh ideas which have emanated from the future owner. It is stated that the yacht will be quite big enough for twenty-seven persons, but will actually provide accommodation only for a crew of three (pilot, mechanic, and steward) and five passengers. Mr Wood himself intends to pilot the vessel during the greater part of its flight. Thera will be Iwo decks, of which the upper, so far as not required for naviga tion and wireless, will be allotted to *hc crow. The lower dock will contain the electrical kitchen, a saloon for the guests, a living loom and a bedroom. Provision will even be made for such luxuries as a shower bath, a refrigerator, ir d a special cupboard for guns and fishing tael; h>. The yacht will bo constructed entirely of metal, and will be driven ‘>y f--ur American motors, each of 500 h.p Tnc average speed will be about 'lO m.n n.. and tho maximum nearly 140 rn.p.h.
