CHARITY STAMP APPEAL

In our advertising columns appears an announcement published by the New Zealand Government Health Department regarding charity stamps. Reference to this scheme has already appeared under the heading of Christmas seals,’ and tho public, no doubt, have a good idea of the purpose of the campaign. The notion is to sell charity stamps at 1 twopence—one penny for postage and one penny- for health — the pioceeds of the fund going towards tlie establishment of children’s health camps, and the spreading of knowledge in regard to tuberculosis. _ The suggestion is made that individuals should place a charity stamp on every letter and parcel which they post, whilst business .firms may be_ inclined to put the stamp on their mail for, say, one week. A personal appeal has been made both by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health for the support of the public, and it is hoped that the appeal will be an entirely successful one.
