ST. FRANCIS XAVIER’S SCHOOL, MORNINGTON

The annual break-up function of St. Francis Xavier’s School took place in the school gymnasium yesterday afternoon in the presence of a large gathering of parents and friends of the school. Bishop Whyte presided, and the prize list was read by the Rev. Father Gavin (St. Joseph’s Cathedral). At the close of a bright variety entertainment, which was greatly enjoyed by all present, the bishop complimented the young performers and thoir teachers on the excellent • results of their year’s work. In the course of his address Bishop Whyte made feeling reference to the wreck of the Manuka, and to tho sufferings of the passengers and crew dpring the night of terror.
