TESTING RIOO
FAVOURABLE IMPRESSIONS (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—L';. Telegraph—Copyright, RUGBY, December 17. (Received December 18, at 11 a.m.) RIOO .after her six hours’ maiden flight yesterday left the mooring mast at Cardington at 10 o’clock this morning, and after circling over Bedford set her course for London. The impressions of the experts on board yesterday were most favourable. Naturally the engines were not run at their lull power on the first flight, but the speeds that she obtained and her response to the controls gave great satisfaction. The crew and passengers numbered sixty. After to-day’s flight the ship returned to the mast just before 3 o’clock. Though she set her course towards London, ther<? was no intention of visiting the metropolis. Owing to the mist and bad visibility the airship escaped observation at most of the places that she passed over. She kept the Air Ministry informed of her movements by wireless.
